Totoro's mother insisted upon having her first kittens in the cattery
towel cabinet. We indulged her in this preference, and there they stayed; the towels could
go.
This picture shows "Totoro", blinking in the sun, on his first trip outdoors at
two weeks of age. At this age his broad head and jaw, heavy bone, high nose placement,
small, widely spaced ears and light, clear lilac color are already evident. We anticipated
that he might someday be a grand champion, perhaps a foundation sire of chocolates and
lilacs. Not much could be discerned about his eye color at this age, but we had high hopes
since both parents have strong eye color. |

This picture shows "Totoro" and his litter
mates playing on a blanket at one month of age.
The chocolate to the left is "CH Tuleburg Fozzie Bear," now
neutered and available as a pet.
Notice in this picture Totoro's wide stance, the breadth between his
front legs, and his short tail. At this age the solid Persians' eyes are still blue. |

Here's "Totoro" at his first show, at Cal Expo in Sacramento.
He's four months old in this picture, enjoying the attention as people who have never seen
a lilac ask "What color is he?" |
